Border Police of the French Republic, State Border Guard Service of Ukraine interested in mutually beneficial cooperation
A delegation of the Border Police of the French Republic, headed by its Director, Eric Le Doiron, has been visiting our country from 4 to 7 July at the invitation of the management of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine and its Head, Colonel General Mykola Lytvyn. The program of the visit includes meetings between the top executives of the two law-enforcement bodies, familiarization of the French border guards with the educational and methodological facilities of the Bohdan Khmelnytsky SBGS National Academy as well as with service conditions at the Odesa Sea Commercial Port maritime traffic checkpoint. Besides, the French delegation members intend to go to the Ukrainian-Moldovan state border section for visiting Kuchurgan-Avto checkpoint and Lymanske outpost – modern units using most novel technologies of state border control in their work.
As it was noted during the delegations’ meeting at the SBGS Administration, the border guard agency heads of Ukraine and France use this visit to commence a new level of cooperation between the two countries on border issues. In the course of the visit, lines of further cooperation will be defined, especially in such areas as risk analysis, documentation of border crossing persons, migration process control and counteraction to illegal migration, as well as destruction of transnational crime channels on the border.
