Azerbaijan’s First Lady gets honorary professor title

The First Lady of Azerbaijan, President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, UNESCO and ISESCO Goodwill Ambassador, MP Mehriban Aliyeva was awarded the title of professor of the world known First Moscow State Medical University after Sechenov of the Russian Federation.
Appropriate letter from rector of the First Moscow State Medical Institute after Sechenov, correspondent member of the Russian Academy of Medical Science, professor, doctor of medical sciences Peter Glibochko, says: “The leadership of the First Moscow State Medical University after M.Sechenov has passed a decision to award the title of the honorary professor of the University to Mehriban Arif gizi Aliyeva for her special contribution to the resolution of global problems related to protection of healthcare, environment, peace and humanism. Charity activity of Mehriban Aliyeva is highly praised in Russia.”
The Russian office of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation cooperates with the Azerbaijani Youth Organization of Russia in implementation of a number of important projects including the projects “Cancer has no nationality”, “Youth against AIDS and drug addiction”, “Be sure you are healthy”, as well as other charity actions at hospitals, homes of children and veterans.
Mehriban Aliyeva’s participation in vitally important projects, aimed for protection of mother and child, combat against talassemia, children diabetes and other diseases is of valuable interest. For us, it is very important that the graduate of our University, Mehriban Arif qizi Aliyeva by her international level activity represents the First Moscow State Medical University after M.Sechenov and raises its prestige.”
It is notable that earlier the same title was conferred only on two persons - world famous cardiologist, academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences Eugenie Chazov and world famous cardiac surgeon, academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences Leo Bokeria.
